We like to honor and celebrate family, friends, and pets by climbing a beautiful peak. We meditate, tell stories, and many times leave a register if there is not one. Sometimes we have several people with us, like when my dad died. Other times it is just us. We like this better than the church service. It seems to suit us.

Journal Entry August 18, 2019: This might have been the most emotional one. Terry's incredible brother, Dwayne passed last year. He was much too young. Today, his sweet wife, Susan, daughter, Erin, son-in-law, Kirk, and grandson, Dane joined us on Courthouse Mountain. This basin has always been one of our favorites; columbine and many other flowers, majestic views of Coxcomb, Chimney Rock, Uncompahgre, Wetterhorn, and many more, and serenity. It is exactly what we needed today. Dwayne had an incredible sense of humor. Every time I saw him I was on the receiving end of a joke...and I loved every minute of it. If he teased you, he loved you. Dwayne loved life, his family, and wild places. His smile was contagious. We think he was with us today.
